Child's Play Poem by Patricia Grantham

Child's Play

Rating: 4.5

When the children goes outside to play
So happy just to see a brand new day
They're color blind in each and every way
In love and peace or come whatever may

Love can come in all kinds of shade
Like the hues sparkling from the rainbow
In the image of God is how we are made
Called the human race that we all know

After running or playing hide and go seek
Hungry, tired they're all humble and meek
Learning from them we can unite as one
Child's play goes on until the day is done

This is a nice children piece and I like the sing-song beat, if flows smoothly and easily even though the meter or beat changes in the stanzas.

'They're color blind in each and every way In love and peace or come whatever may' - Loved these lines. A true observation that can be emulated by the elders. 'Learning from them we can unite as one Child's play goes on until the day is done ' - Yes, we can learn from them. A nice poem indeed.

Children never discriminate.... they are colour blind! They unite together forgetting rank and status! It is so energizing to watch children at play! Let the children open the eyes of elders to shed their cold formalities and rigid reserve! Enjoyed this free flowing poem!
