Child Robbery
Who gives them power
to rob the child
of his smile?
Who gives them power
to make him think
before he laughs?
Who gives them power
to steal the wonder
from his eyes?
Who gives them power
to make him shun
his own uniqueness?
I gave them power
but now the trickster
takes it back
