Child-Mother Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Child-Mother

Rating: 5.0

She never complained about her
Always worked hard and bothered
Thought about our well being
But took little or no rest to bring her body at rest

Her body slowly gave up her way
She was not remaining healthy all the way
We used to notice and reminded her
She will scoff at with smile offer

I was younger one and close
She will call me often and choose
To give chocolates and sweets
Kiss on forehead and affectionately greet

I was not sent willingly
I had preferred it voluntarily
I remained away for one year
I longed so much to hear her

She will stay near to my pillow
Move her fingers in hair and allow
I will sleep then comfortably
She would then watch me happily

One day I found little tears were shed
Dropped from her eyes over my head
I got up and asked” Why mom’
She did no reply and kept mum

You will be leaving again
In few days time you will be in train
To be in service for another year
I am happy with no more fear

“I am so much proud” she was saying
“People say you are proud mother” I was listening
How was she feeling and movingly expressing?
I really felt absence of heaven and thought why was it missing

She was not to see me in next vacation
She had expressed it with full of satisfaction
“You have done proud things for me”
She will always feel great with words when greet

I felt so much over her departure
Heaven turned so small for my future
Why was she so much affectionate?
I have had no words to relate

Mother of all human beings may be the same
I really feel so much when time comes to claim
What a wonderful human being to be gifted with!
I shall always want to remain near her at the time of death

It is one of biggest event
When you could flame her body and comment
“You will break down with emotions”
Such is child-mother’s relation

Very nicely portrayed experience. If it is transformed into a novel, it would have been really good. UK Atiyodi, Kandangali, Payyanur, Kannur 670307 Mar 12,2014

perhaps the only retrouvaille where there is less of judgement and more of love and forgiveness touched to read this poem and especially the connection with the entire world a saint and a non-saint have mothers to turn to when the world judges Warm regards, Supratik Sen, Hyderabad Mar 12,2014
