Chibok Blues Poem by Tony Adah

Chibok Blues

Rivers, seas and oceans
Are a world away
From the bevy
Still they seem to be drowning
Dream but awake
Clasp but the air
Stung by the wilderness
But captured by a cult.

Harrowing nights
Elongated days and
A national shame
Of a hermetically packaged
Entropy darting in the land
Freedom or slavery
There's hope
As there's God.
