(((Chess Or Cards Anyone?))) Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

(((Chess Or Cards Anyone?)))

Rating: 3.5

Controversal stalemate?
Strikes adversity
As it once slumbered
Too caught up in its own comfort
Unprepared for any crisis
That is ever near
With the brush of your pen
Opening up yet another can of worms
Long since forgotten
And back shelved
Only to break wide open once and again
You would bite your own nose off
To spite yourself
Your own ego has you bathed
In Pride and Arrogance
Where once your wisdom bloomed
Much as a new flower
Now it gets lost
In the bungling-so sure of himself man
Who can let nothing rest
Let nothing be
In your own tortuous cage
You celebrate your age of rage
And continue to dig a deeper hole for yourself
You are a true Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Your Evil pervades your Godly
Paint yourself
Back into that corner
Mon enemy
Go ahead
Play your best hand
Make your best move
But i've got news
For you
Its just not good enough

Great poem, Theo. I can't resist any title that mentions my favorite game, chess, and this poem is a beauty.
