Cheers Poem by goldtooth grin

Cheers

yes it's true
I cheer every time our troops kill a man in a land far away
we nod our heads in a drunk unison:
'that man was guilty as hell! '

yes it's true
I cheer every time the police quote their latest statistics
the good are white, the bad are black
no need for proofs or ballistics

yes it's true
I cheer every time there is another royal wedding
I sponsored it yet I don't mind
not being on that royal guest list

yes it's true
I'm scared to stay quiet and cheer louder the more people join in
if I am not with us, then surely I'm with them
round here, that's how it's always been
