Baby girl don't be sad
Just cheer up and smile
and don't be mad
with this world that goes on for miles

Don't waste your time with tears and rage
just go read one of your books and turn the page
passing the time till it blows over
or sit in your bed under your covers

If you need some reassurance
I'll be here to tell you it's alright
I'll sit with you and give you a hug
a shoulder to cry on if you need it

Just don't worry, baby
everything happens for a reason
and I'll tell you that from the heart
Everything will be alright
you just wait and see
