as i sit here all alone
with you not here beside me
i think to myself, 'why are you the way you are'
you are special, open Ur eyes and see

it's sad the way u treat yourself
why do u put yourself down soo low? ?
there r people who'd kill to be 'you'
you're different, you're better than the average Joe

walk a day in a stranger's shoes
and see his world..his problems..his joys
consider yourself lucky, lucky to be 'you'
live for yourself...make the right choice

never ever underestimate yourself
u were destined for great things u know
don't believe me...wait and watch...
Ur life will unfold...Ur world will grow

never try to change who u r
if u do...then change yourself for the better
never let words hurt u..never let life jerk u
never let Ur emotions get under the weather

love who u r...respect yourself first
don't care what other people think of u
always know that...u got family and friends
to love u....respect u...we will always be true

u don't always need recognition in life
don't need glory...don't need no Nobel prize
the biggest recognition is amongst Ur loved ones
we still think u r the best...u r different in our eyes

take the time to look in the 'mirror'
and see the person in front of you
love that person more than anybody else does
because in the end...it's only gonna be the two of you
