Checkmated (The Chess Game Of Life) Poem by Tommy Sinnott

Checkmated (The Chess Game Of Life)

Rating: 4.5

Here lie the Kings, the Queens,
The Knights, The Bishops,
The Rooks, The Pawns,
Of our civilization.

Oh, what stories lay hidden
Beneath these chess pieces...
Monuments to the moves made
In their Chess Game of Life.

Though, most are Pawns and Rooks,
Some are Knights and Bishops,
Always a few Kings and Queens,
Will surface to rule
The Game of Life.

But when the final moves are made,
By the Master Chess Player,
In our Chess Game of Life,
All will end here...
Checkmated to a new Beginning.
