    Vying against one's own self
    On this checkerboard-life
    No winners no losers
    In this endless game
    Of lines and squares
    Tantalizing
    Teasing... (Report) Reply

A poem with a deep insight! The analogy of life and checkerboard is very logical! Yes, everything is in our thought process and whether we win or lose depends on how clearly we percieve things and how well we act according to our perceptions! ! (Report) Reply

Thank you Ms Shahzia Batool. I checked your quote and it is from Elbert Green Hubbard (1856 –1915) , an American philosopher, who has many brilliant quotes. In my poem I presented life as walk on a checkerboard. I thank you very much for your thoughtful comment. (Report) Reply

    Brilliant analogy!

i would like to quote the lines i read somewhere:

“Life is a checkerboard, and the player opposite you is time. If you hesitate before moving, or neglect to move promptly, your men will be wiped off the board by time. You are playing against a partner who will not tolerate indecision! ” (Report) Reply

great saying here ''What if we think
    Lines as desirable
    And squares as obstacles?
    It's all in our
    Thought process'' - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -loved it and loved the theme....lovely.. (Report) Reply

Luckily we are asked to walk in the square and not to cross the barrier. Otherwise we will be restricted without any space to the dancing of the souls and the bodies..Nice.. (Report) Reply

poet Percy Bysshe Shelley

O World! O Life! O Time!
On whose last steps I climb,
Trembling at that where I had stood before;
When will return the glory of your prime?
No more -Oh, never more!
