Cheat Of Devotion

Unfathomable resentment
Treachery found, in lover's myth
Infidelity, grand blasphemy
Consented not, by whom you’re with

Forbidden as the sacred fruit
Flesh, of another's sensuous form
Breach of Love's commitment
Festers, unleashing jealousy's storm

Unbridled, tempers flare
Red hot embers of disgust
Belittled by lust, betrayed
Volcanic explosion, destroying trust

Separation of scenic demise
Bethink a tragedy, a sin
Burned, seared upon thy heart
A cheat of devotion, Devil's kin

'Red hot embers of disgust/ belittled by lust...' this says it all - magnificently penned. A marvellously purging piece (at least, I hope it was!) S ;) (Report) Reply
