Chasing Desire Poem by Alex McCullough

Chasing Desire

Clouds blew across the fields,
Farther than what I could see,
The distance I couldn't begin to comprehend.
The reasons of searching this long,
Have drifted with the wind,
Way beyond what I could ever hope to grasp.
Never stopping even if death came for me,
Was the spark that roared in my heart,
Because the thing I yearned for,
Was more valuable than my soul!
Scream out in defiance! ,
What you are living for,
Keep it close to your heart,
So no one can ever steal it.
The world will know then,
That the bonds that hold these hearts together,
Shine brighter than any sun they've seen!
Keep on moving forward,
Through the doubts that stand before you,
Trying blocking your dreams,
Don't ever let yourself be fooled.
Because the light you've been following,
Will lead you to your precious thing,
So don't ever give up!
