Chasing Beauty Poem by Charlie Parant

Chasing Beauty

Rating: 4.0

change the color of your hair
change the style of clothes you wear
get yourself a new tattoo
there are so many things you can do
read the fashion magazines
try to fit into your jeans
pluck your eyebrows, paint your nails,
check out all the clothing sales
anti-aging cream for your eyes
cellulite cream to rub on your thighs
get injections to plump your lips
exercises to thin your hips
buy new shoes, tops and pants
saving up for breast implants
get yourself an instant tan
sprayed on from an aerosol can
wax your legs, shave your pits
buy more products to ward off zits
you’ll want your skin to radiate
but first you must exfoliate
whiten your teeth, curl your lashes,
dig into your make-up stashes
lipstick, lip gloss and lip liner
so your lips look so much finer
perfume from your favorite designer
foundation, blush and skin refiner
don’t forget about your eyes
there are products to revitalize
liner, eye shadow and mascara,
creams containing aloe vera
then you’ll want to hit the gym
exercise, so, you’ll look slim
you might develop one small quirk
cuz’ chasing beauty is hard work
