Charlotte's 1919 Photograph Poem by Chris Lane

Charlotte's 1919 Photograph

You are as beautiful now
as the day that photograph
was taken.
You and Louise sitting in
The Trap - Your sturdy steed
Derry Dubh that was
Magnificent in grace poised.
You always did like to travel in style.

© Calac.

*Trap. A light usually one-horse carriage with springs.
*Derry Dubh. Gaeilge: “Black Oak”. The name of The Horse.
