Charge Poem by Tosin Abegunde

Charge

Under a ragged coat lies wisdom
Neither praise nor dispraise thyself
Thy action serves the turn
An ox is taken by the horns
And a man by his words
A long tongue is short hand
Two suns dont shine is a sphere
United we stand, divided we fall
Empty sack never stand erect
Repentance is good, innocence is better
If things were done twice
All would be wise
A man of all religion
Is a man of no religion
One may live without a pa or a ma
But not without a God.
Crosses are ladders to heaven
For every evil under the sun
There is remedy
Or is there none?
If there be one, try and find it
If there be non, never mind it
He who works begins well;
He who economizes ends better
Proper planing prevents poor performance
As a moisty morning does not signify a cloudy day.
