Changes In Attitudes Changes In Beatitudes Poem by Chris Wall

Changes In Attitudes Changes In Beatitudes

Of course the meek shall inherit the earth
It was proclaimed from the mount
They have served with patience and humility
If the Kingdom of Heaven will be theirs I can not say
Nor can I tell if they shall delight in the abundance of peace
But the meek shall Inherit the earth
It was proclaimed from the mount
They have suffered without resentment
The arrogance of the proud has yet to cease
Nor the wicked severed from among the just
But the meek shall Inherit the earth
It was proclaimed from the mount
They have been submissive in disposition and nature
Though the evildoers have not been cut off
And the haughtiness of the terrible has not been laid low
But the meek shall Inherit the earth
I'm afraid their inheritance comes one grave at a time...
