Chance Poem by Amanda Eckols

Chance

Rating: 5.0

A jackhammer pounds inside my head
While some body work away on my heart
Slice and cut just like they were taught
Chipping away piece after piece
You almost wouldn’t notice how much smaller it got
If it weren’t for the evidence lying beside me
Decision are easy especial not this one
To cut out the cancer or hope it gets better
There a 50/50 either way I’ll die either way
A 100% tear will be shed, someone’s heart will break
The rain has fallen the water is gone
There nothing left inside of me
I wonder how It would be if I went the other way.
