Of Muses And Other Ghosts

(7 march 1988)

Ce Femeie!

Ma tarasti prin patul tau albastru.
Goala, ca o muza evadata
din poeziile marilor poeti,
te semnezi pe buzele mele
cu sarutari rosii.

Iti stergi zambetul pe pielea mea
ca o femeie ce-si marcheaza teritoriul
prin sex,
doar atunci cand ochii altora
sunt atintiti asupra mea,
iar apoi imi arunci hainele in brate
si imi spui sa plec.

Iar eu plec, lasand mereu
cate un nou poem
pe presul din fata usii tale
ca un copac ce-si pierde frunzele.

Dar asa cum spunea si Garcia Marquez
o sa vina si ziua cand o sa plec
cu radacini cu tot
departe.

Kind solace in a dying hour!
Such, father, is not (now) my theme-
I will not madly deem that power
Of Earth may shrive me of the sin
