Cause She Loves Me Poem by Mustafa Marconi

Cause She Loves Me

Sister couldn’t walk away
I was all she ever had
Played her role and stayed in place
As precious seconds passed
Reality so twisted
And self esteem succumbing
If I beat her down or stymied growth
She felt she had it coming
Sister tried to hold it down
To press on through the seasons
Her shattered dreams encouraged her
To justify the reasons
Her family and in-laws
Tried endless interventions
Despite the evidence presented
She craved manipulation
Exhausted and confused
She pleaded for her freedom
Firmly coax back to her senses
I almost had to kill them
Sister walked the streets at night
And sold her soul for money
She quench the appetites of countless faces
And did it cause she loves me
