Cause And Effect Poem by Charles WOO

Cause And Effect

Unlucky people ask for a good transmigration.
They should not indulge in sex and intoxication.
Noble gentlemen stand firm even in poverty;
Crafty persons flatter the rich for money.
Since failure or success is God's arrangement,
sorrow and joy make no amendment.
Longevity or to die young is fickle;
we should not be proud or sorrowful.
If we cease evil act and cultivate our character,
we are approaching the righteous sector.
If we behave with our conscience,
we can be a buddha in an instant.

From Charles Wu in Hong Kong, China.
