Cat And Mouse Poem by Lauren Humphrey

Cat And Mouse

This old game of cat and mouse
Is beginning to wear me down
I don’t understand how you think it is all fair
I am tired of sleeping in this old house
And living in this pathetic town
I am starting to lose all care.
I think I have lost my mind
And all you do is make me cry
Goddamn I just want to be free
Happiness is hard to find
I am surprised how easy it was to say goodbye
This is my last plea
Please let me go because I need to live
Being with you I deserve an award
You are driving me insane
I don’t know if I can survive
This is reason for the mental ward
You cause me far to much pain
I feel as if I cannot breath
Around my body you have a tight rope
Everything is starting to go black
You will be the cause of my death
You have given me nothing but false hope
But now you want me back
Well I say not one chance
Do not think you can have me again
I am over this silly old game
This is me taking my last stance
I am breaking the chain
I have already forgotten your name
