Carl Sagan Poem by Eric Bult

Carl Sagan

He first did name our Earth the pale blue dot.
He wrote so movingly of humankind
And our conceived future in this spot
Within our galaxy where who might find?
His name was Carl Sagan and years ago
In nineteen ninety five he wrote a book
And coined those words that ever since did flow
Within my memory and are a hook
To lift my mind from aimless wallowing,
To search for purpose and for method too
That I may seize upon in following
A course to take me on beyond that blue
Dot, where our spirits may forever be
Together in one blessed constancy.
