Care to Love it is All That You Have Left:

Care to step down from eight thousand years
Of black culture into the hole
Of merchant ships
Bound by shackles near drowning in motions
Of meaning and acts of criminal domestication
You are black and in life a vacancy
You are brown
Waiting verification to vacate
Together you must
Subsidize the partial differential equations
That sequence pathological behavior
And schizo-racism of unbalanced minds
Inflate demand for pharmaceuticals
Hygienic tablet supplements
Larger than the wider community
And larger than life as if
That way
Is belief in it
In God's grace
Or delusional thought interrupts
Request queries
On digital party lines
In cross conversation
With the Holy Spirit
Taken as talking to yourself
As if
The Holy Spirit would acknowledge that which
You say agrees with you
As you do
Holy Ghost in play
With ambiguity imposed
Upon virtual unsolicited
Instagrams forwarded
Instantaneously to
One another

With each other with yourself alone and
Taken to the height
Of self righteousness
you will pay according to corporate
Rent receipts paper subsidizes that way
you must pay while you wait and if
You accept the white idea conflict of interests
Must also share the burden
To enjoy the fare well meaning which means
Not at all
a politics of experience an hypocrisy
To stone all the prostitutes whom elitists
Kidnap boys from rural towns and girls from
Country roads unprotected though merchant
Marines stand guard on ships to malls
and city squares
These ships dock in a slip called time lapse
Date harlots to overuse but not to do not sale
do not think to look for music
When you read a poem and when prose
Forms rhyme that fails and meter of time
Runs down
If you love it that is all that you have left
But if you have not earned it you deserve it
Take the gift that is grace
That is God's way believe it or not
look along the edge of nature's paths
There beside the rooted grounds believe
The trees believe the nearness of grace
The trees do not repent the thirst
nor winnow heads to tails
Face to face toward release to death
Beast cannot think to look for another way.
