Cards On The Table Poem by Belle Violet

Cards On The Table

If we're dating let me
start by saying,
this better be worth
my while.
Once the charm wears off
and I've called your bluff,
a few times, let's hope
you're still
as interesting
in the sack.
Be a pity to give good
sex back.
So stay that way, please
and keep up on
the pleasing;
don't get lax
with your mouth
and I won't.
Give me a reason
to find you
unappealing?
Darling,
don't.
You better accept
this side of crazy,
all the
nonsensical rules
for dating me.
Accept that I'm lazier than you.
Expect I'm soft too.
Don't give me any bullsh*t
unless
I deserve it.
You better be jealous,
you'd better
fix my house,
you better
make
a good connection.
I'm so tired
of deception.
I wont ask you for anything,
most of the time.
I'd appreciate you
not letting me
waste time.
For the record
you're already
mine.
You're one of
a few
that's tied
to my hydrant.
Know
what you're coming for,
and don't
make me bored,
I'd like
cooking breakfast
together
more often.
I could see us
in a cabin.
I won't ask you again,
so you know.
It's yours to mull and
your call.
You're a smart enough man
to program machines;
I'm sure
you know what I mean.
Put your cards on the table,
you got my wager.
