Cardiac Care Poem by Kayte Stacy

Cardiac Care

Why won't I just die,
Why am I still here,
You've hurt me enough times,
I've shed enough tears.

Yet you come back again,
To try and take a little more,
Cut open my feeble veins,
Just to see the blood pour.

Well, I've taken back my heart
And I hope that now you see,
I'm better off when we're apart,
And I don't need you to love me.
