Captive Poem by Pulcher Parker

Captive

You’re a butterfly.
You spread your wings,
But please don’t fly.
I need you here with me.
I'm not ready to see you free.

You’re a butterfly.
You flutter your beauty,
But it isn’t that that they see.
Please don’t let them have you,
I am trying to do all I can do.

You’re a butterfly.
You want to be something great,
I say go for it.
But you’re still mine until I, with a cry,
Set you free Butterfly.
