Cannot Seem To Let Go Poem by Abigail Torres

I've never thought i'd get this far,
all the suffering i'm putting you through,
for just another one of my lame lies,
i thought for sure it'd be so different,
and being happy was what we both wanted,
but you stuck in there isn't making none of us happy,
i know i told you always but always is just simple word,
that doesn't affect one another but makes us stronger,
to believe that it was never there,
but here i am so many days after,
and still here i stand,
waiting for your call,
its been too long,
and distance should never break us apart,
because without you i am completely lost,
is it fate that you're not mine,
or is it just another lame excuse,
but excuse me if i may,
you should just let me lay,
right beside you on this day,
tonight while you're here i want you near,
without any fears of you being taken away.
