Can You Promise? Poem by Fiona Schwartzinoff

Can You Promise?

Rating: 3.7

Can you promise that I will be remembered?
That the world will shed a tear
When it realizes there’s no more Fiona,
That she no longer lives here?

Can you promise that thoughts will be kind
When they hear that I am gone?
Will they weep, will they frown,
Or worse, say nothing, nothing, at all?

Can you promise the sky will lower a bit
And the stars will dim their shine
When they realize there’s no more Fiona,
She sadly ran out of time?

I am not in that open boat. But thinking about what I may leave behind is a bit overwhelming. That's my reason for this poem. Thanks for your sweet words!

So many think that no ones cares yet sadly it is only because we are all so wrapped up in our own crazy lives. We all have to say goodbye but how do we prepare for this. I certainly hope that you are not in that open boat. Thank you so much Fiona. I wish you hope.
