Can You Fathom Love? Poem by Brittany Graviet

Can You Fathom Love?

Come child, I, your father beckon you.
A slap across the face is due.
Tell mother you fell in the dirt.
You belong there anyways.
Cover up your hurt.

Can you fathom love?
Why ponder thereof?
Meaningful is my word.
I promise I won't let you die.
So deprive yourself of being heard.

My demonic child,
Pretend you are beguiled.
Love is bearing this life,
So show me you love me.
This is no great strife.

Of course i love thee as well.
Prove thy affections to keep from Hell.
Your alibi is you fell off a swing.
Lie my sinful son
Grandma need not know a thing.

I bore you solely for this,
To take away my pain's abyss
I have entreated it of ye half-wit
By inflicting it upon you.
So fall and submit.

Can you fathom love?
It is covering this trial i speak of.
So run and hide.
Don't dare to cry.
My horribly beloved child.
