Can'T You See I'M Doing All I Can? Poem by Violet Warren

Can'T You See I'M Doing All I Can?

I'm broken
my heart is falling
and I can't catch it
my guilt is calling

help me
gathering all I am
holding on
for something to believe in

beautiful intoxication
of all that I am
and I can't help the admiration
can't you see I'm doing all that I can

as the wind blows
it carries
all of my pain
and on his shoulders
he bears all my dead weight

I can't stand beside it
For I'm ashamed of what I've become

all the scars they bury themselves so deep
all the lies they bend beneath my feet

I need you for solid ground
I need you to hold me up when I'm down

and tell me it's going to be okay
tomorrow's another day
