Can I Walk Alone Down The Road? Poem by Arijit Mandal

Can I Walk Alone Down The Road?

Can i walk alone down the road?
The road that is very broad
and so i really need a company,
for that i'm in search of a consort.

The road is totally covered,
with the leaves that have shattered.
Some are yellow, some are red and golden,
better to call them pestilence-stricken.

The road holds the footprints of many travellers,
who have crossed it to meet their beloved lovers.
They crossed it meet their destiny,
but i come here to cross and find a lifeline company.

On the both sides of the road,
stands the green monsters,
which keeps staring at me as i walk,
like the bright sun and the twinkling stars.

I walk on the lonely road
with a tremendous and terrible fear
i did everything i could
to get you close and near.

Can i walk alone down the road?
Which is an endless immortal,
and holds the footprints of a load
speaking of the human's mortal.

Alas! Not a single voice i could hear.
Which fills my heart again with fear.
I dunno when i would get u near.
I fear, i fear, i fear..
