Can He Live Long Happily?
The one who accumulates gold and materials,
The one who is cherishing his body with pleasures;
The one who enjoys according to his desires,
without having interest to do good to anybody;
The one who does not take care of his parents,
The one who is not helping the poor relatives;
The one who is praying the God without doing
any virtues and charity, Can he live long happily?

அறஞ்செய்யான் உய்வதுண்டோ?
பொன்னும் பொருளும் சேர்த்திடுவான்!
போற்றித் தன்னுடல் வளர்த்திடுவான்!
நன்மை எவர்க்கும் நினையாமல்
நாடியே தன்சுகம் அனுபவிப்பான்!
அன்னை தந்தையை ஆதரியான்!
அன்பாய்ச் சுற்றத் தவர்க்குதவான்!
என்றும் அறங்கள் செய்யாமல்
இறைவனைத் தொழுவான்! உய்வதுண்டோ?
