Camp Green Lake Poem by sam magora

Camp Green Lake

Rating: 4.5

At camp green lake
We dig holes and we sweat like a pig
In the hot sun we get the job done
All day long we toil though the day
We pray that the day will end
And sometimes we end it our selves
All it takes is one little lizard or snake and
It’s all over.
The warden works us every day
And makes us pay for every mistake,
The holes we dig sometimes feel like our grave but somehow
Some of us survive
Unlike the rest
They now lay in the hospital or dead on the ground
Waiting to by the flies maggots and birds
May they rest in peace some say
May they rest dead forever others may say
But we know the lizards will use them as shelter from the
Hot sun that will cook you alive.
