California Is Dreaming Poem by gershon hepner

California Is Dreaming

Rating: 5.0

Honoring rules far less well on the beach
than with the observance expected at home
we tend to forget what our ministers teach,
the rules of Jerusalem, Canterbury, Rome,
appearing redundant when lying on sand,
enjoying the surf, and the breasts and the thighs
which the men who wrote rules did not well understand,
oblivious of curves that are shapely and size
of those parts of the body that wettened by waves
trigger thoughts of transgressive free love in the sun,
California is dreaming where everyone raves
about breaches on beaches observed having fun.

On the note of typos, Gersh, I wholeheartedly recommend you a course in Pitmans.: -) Mind you, if I had the choice of writing with masterly rhyme and rich, dreamy language (as demonstrated in the above poem) or typing flawlessly, I know which way I'd go, and I think you do as well, Gershy. After all, hire-typists are ten-a-penny.: -) With a humble smile, Gina.

I just HAD to sidle over to this one, having recently posted my sentiments along the same title. A lovely and accurate glimpse of my heart's home - a bit 'dreamy' too - just right for the setting. Cheers, Lori
