C.R.E.A.M. (Cash Rules Everything Around Me) Poem by Darrin McMiller Jr.

C.R.E.A.M. (Cash Rules Everything Around Me)

Rating: 5.0

Emotions shifting
Motion sickness
The motions of the world
Exploding with its devotion to the dollar
Almighty Capitalism,
Trapped in the back of our mind

No one cares no one minds it
We don’t find it disrespectful
That our women objects-n-items
To purchase
Shoplifted, put in their own purses

Persecution is coming swiftly
The truth is delayed
Laying with lies
Covered in speculation
Accompanied is justice
Strung off of innocent lives
Blood rushes while “just us” remains blind
I want an eye for an eye

I think the acronym C.R.E.A.M, the title, is clever and captivating...its extremely harsh but not untrue. It can be depressing or refreshing depending on the mood you're in when you're reading it...right now it depresses me but that's not bad. If a poem can inspire emotion, then the poet did something right. Keep it up!
