Bystander Poem by Hannah Shier

Bystander

I'm ignored,
brought down,
shut up,
blocked out.
No matter what I do, I'm still
useless,
unworthy,
pathetic,
weak.
I can't stand up for myself.
I am all those things, but only cause you don't help me.
Why won't you help me?
Why are you doing this to me?
Because you don't care.
And so I sit here.
Alone.
And I die.
In silence.
