By Your Side

You held your bags, and just walked away
and as usual.. I had nothing to say,
only stood alone, with handwritten note in my hand
trying not to lose my mind.

[Chorus]
-wasn't it you, the one who took a look at my heart?
-wasn't it you, the one who taught me how to see through the dark?
The one who used to read between my lines,
and the only one who said.. I'll always be by your side!

I don't know how much stupid you think I am..
but, I really miss the way you used to scream my name.
I can feel it.. everytime you turn around to say 'hey'
then, you smile and just keep running away.

[Repeat Chorus]

Oh, you supposed to be by my side!

Now, all I can do..
is to keep wishing on wishing stars.
My heart fell so hard for you,
and I may change, but you're always the one who you are..

And you'll say,
-wasn't it you, the one who let me touch her heart?
-wasn't it you, the one who wanted to switch off the light?
The one who used to hide her fear between lines,
..and the only one who said..
I'll always be.. I'll always be..
by your side!

Oh, oh, oh..

You held your bags, and just walked away
and as usual.. I had nothing to say!

    A wonderful poem.
Promises are easy to make but difficult to keep.
It takes ego to walk away and courage to come back. (Report) Reply

poet Christina Georgina Rossetti

Where sunless rivers weep
Their waves into the deep,
She sleeps a charmed sleep:
Awake her not.
Led by a single star,
She came from very far
