By The Bay Poem by alice spakrs

By The Bay

As the world turns slowly throughout the day,
I find myself laying by the bay.
The same bay where I used to laugh and play.
Now I find myself laying by the bay.
I used to come here to hang out and say.
'This is my new place, my new bay.'
I used to come here and sing while I lay.
Now I find myself at the bay.
I lied there thinking of that day,
That day I was found by the bay.
Now I lie and sleep throughout the day.
I sleep by the bay.
I heard my mother had some words to say.
'My baby girl I say this where she lie a bay,
she knows that this isn't her bay.
Her body found on the sharp rocks at this bay.
Let her hear me I pray.
Baby girl I wish you've stayed home that day.
So I wouldn't find you by the bay.'
