By Some I'Ve Been Told

By some I've been told that my spelling is poor and that I do lack in writing skill
Unpaid critics to say the least but I do write on with a will
By those little better as writers than me our names literary historians will hardly recall
Yet when one is one of the dead does that really matter at all
When people ask me to comment on their work without meaning for to patronize
I tell them their poetry is good for I too have come to realize
That they too are trying their best and to self betterment they are true
And credit to them I must pay since credit is only their due
Unsolicited comments I never more give since I've decided to give commenting away
I do not have a literary degree and what is good or bad poetry is not for me to say
But I keep on penning more stuff 'tis something that I do enjoy
In the heart of every ageing man you will find a bit of a boy
Of unsolicited negative comments I've had quite a few by those who feel superior to me
But if the flaws in others they do seek to find their own flaws they hardly can see.
