Butterfly Wing Poem by Danette Frenz

Butterfly Wing

I am a butterfly wing
Softly flitting from flower to flower
As peaceful as a dove.
My voice echoes lightly through the trees
“Coo-roo-coo-coo.”
I hear raindrops dripping off the leaves
Washing the ground like fresh laundry.
Like a petal I unfurl
But brown and brittle like a leaf
On a branch I glide to the ground
And land
On wet ground.
