Butterfly Poem by Pete Shilling

Butterfly

Wake up, it’s morning,
Let out a sigh,
Pretend it’s ok,
But know it’s a lie,
Unsure of the day,
Life’s passing you by,
Everything’s hazy,
So under-rated,
Why are our lives,
So complicated,
Imagine your mind,
Is a butterfly net,
Collecting all,
The thoughts that you get,
Some beautiful ones,
But ugly ones too,
Whispering things,
That just are not true,
Now let those ones go,
Things people did, people said,
Just let the beautiful ones,
Fly around in your head.
