But For The Grace Of Lord Shiva..........

Rating: 5.0

The flight was late
just one auto waiting for me
to take me to coimbatore railway station
reaching at 3.30 pm
put baggages in cloak room
late lunch in the railway canteen
set out to have a glimpse of
dhyana lingam in the Velliangiri mountains
waited and waited for the bus
till I boarded the bus at 4.30
the bus..
with unlimited stoppages for school students
only added to my woes
reaching destination by 6 pm
watched a glimpse of dhyana lingam from a distance
prayed to Lord Shiva
my return journey spent in deep anxiety
for the return bus
bus sighted only at 7 pm
I boarded with much hope
shivering with the cold wind
scheduled to catch the train by 8.30 pm
the bus moving in standard speed
but no end to distance
time passed and passed
my tension mounted and mounted
its already 8.15 pm, still 10 kms left
with traffic jam
the city was sighted
but still the station far away
my tension set to multiply
certainly I am going to miss the train
O God...protect me
my inner voice shouted
I got down the bus at the traffic point
and caught an auto
drove straight to station
and to the cloak room
it was 8.27 pm.....
alas! I went to the wrong platform
then again returned back
ohhh..where is the compartment
I travelled a lot
the 3AC compartment was a misnomer..
I found my berth occupied by a lady
again got down
and moved ahead
I found the correct 3AC compartment
I kept my luggage and alighted
to buy dinner and water in the platform
I was so tensed..
the moment I boarded the train
the train started within a second...
Ohhh..I was relieved of the copious stress
for the last two hours
Lord Shiva saved me...
I listened to my inner voice
I would have surely missed the train
but for that glimpse of ' Dhyana lingam '.

Dear Kishore Kumar Das ji, Such a nice narration! You kept me anxious till the end of the poem, to know whether you caught the train. After all those tense moments. Finally, you made it! I am happy to know that you acknowledged it as the grace of Dhyaana Lingam. Splendid! Full 10 for you!
