But-

I have lost everything but my pride,
I have fallen but stood up again,
I have been hurt but still alive,
I have let go but not given up.
This is my life, no one can take it,
I shall stand and try as long as I live.
My happiness, my fate, my pride and my life
no one can have it but I.

Poem of the Day

poet Paul Laurence Dunbar

The mist has left the greening plain,

The coquette rose awakes again
Her lovely self adorning.

The Wind is hiding in the trees,
