Bury Me Poem by Olatunde Temitayo

Bury Me

BURY ME
If tomorrow I remain not in this world
Because of deadly pie I wish to eat
Baked through oil of shame
If Oxygen refuse to exchange pleasantries with carbon dioxide
So as to make me to embark on solitude journey of no return
Bury me
Neither on land nor sea
Should you bury me
But bury me in the atmosphere
Where no termite kisses flesh
In breeze I will rest
And flies will be my guards
Or do you want me to leave not?
To stay and watch the death of loved ones
Please bury me as I want
My people's face is like a sky
That drops water
Of no season my people's face drop water
Embryos shed tears
Bury me
Because I am tired of being a mother
Yesterday, along the my road; cars hugged one another
Last night, kids got missimg
This morning, people left me through bomb as plane
Please, bury me not on field
Nor on cemented ground
But in atmosphere I wanr to be laid
For I am tired of being a mother
