Burn

I burn the memories
Like a cigarette
The ashes dance in the air
I try to burn the memories
Of me and you but to no avail
The ashes continue
To sail throughout the night
I feel sadness and relief
Sadness because you
Are no longer with me
And relief because
I no longer have these
Tortured memories
Of you and I
And now they are lost ashes
That now belong
To the sky

When Phoebus gies a short-liv'd glow'r,
