Burden Poem by Jessica Dehn

Burden

Rating: 5.0

Time has slowed,
Or is it only me?

They say some are meant for greatness,
while others are for suffering.

While there was once a time when I thought greatness was
within reach, I have learned otherwise. To suffer is my fate.

At times the burden seems to great to bare, this lonely path is mine to walk. I might not be alone for other suffers are out there but we each carry our burden in silece not making to each other known.

Each of us are given moments of happiness. Times when we are the sunshine to help the grains grow. When we are light to others dark.
These times are fleeting in there passing, only there to remind us of our place, to show us joy so we suffer more.

Time hasn't slowed,
only my burden has grown.

Expressive and so impressive! Really enjoyed reading it more than one time. It is challenging from the inside.
