charming are its quirks when top down,
strange are its cheers when bottoms up!

did you hear about the rhinoceros that fights fire?
i bet you have never heard of anything so preposterous...

she guns for the throttle,
he gives an amused look...
she assumes a wintry descent,
he gives a wry smile...

the tortoise is a slow study in poise,
the rabbit is a fast study in habit.

they both ran across the stage to see who would win the first act in play…

homer would have you believe that hippos are naturally hungry
though i will have you know that hungry hippos are actually quite rare...

they mostly like to bask in the sun out in the plains bare

the monkey is a much maligned manimal
hardly a monk, though occasionally he goes mad

oh, dreams how they haunt me now
