Broken Vessels Poem by Dr John Celes

Broken Vessels

God chooses broken vessels alone,
Healing the wounds of mind and heart,
Filling their cracks and crevices,
Making them look wholesome somewhat,

By miracles and wonders touching
The downtrodden and destitute,
Orphaned, widowed and beggars lone,
Those cast away, neglected by all,

And filling them up to the brim,
Making them hold as per His Will,
Astonishing the crazy world,
Showing what's power of God!

Such broken vessels only can
Do feats and wonders unheard of,
That others better of can't do,
For glory of the Potter God,
Whose heart afilled with newer joy
Blazes like a furnace with great love.

Such broken vessels world-ignored,
God uses for His purpose prime,
Showing the world what He can do,
And human beings simply can't.

Thus God shows immense love to those
Most unlucky, unfortunate,
On verge of death by suicide,
With heart and mind, much desperate.

The Shepherd leaves His ninety nine,
And goes after the one sheep lost,
Rescuing it from the brambly-bush,
Bringing it on His shoulders
To rejoice!
