Broken Hope Poem by Eugene Robbe Timson

Broken Hope

Rating: 3.5

You say that you want to meet, a message you sent but I cannot read
Limited access is all you get Subscribe they say, pay the fee to read they say.
A photo is all you get, with a brief profile description
The beauty that is before me captured in time, the essence of an Angel within my grasp
Blue eyes that pierce my soul that reaches into my very existence, a smile that could light a room full of darkness, Hair long and wavy, pristine emotions that run along your features, full of love, fun and adventure, A picture that paints a thousand words and embodies a quadrillion stars
Finally I break and pay the price to read the message long overdue, would you remember me
I do not know you but that still frame plays on my mind, that picture tugging at my heart’s strings
That profile it reads like my destiny, my heart filled with excitement, I am about to meet my best friend, my partner my lover
Patiently I wait for your reply, A first date I ask in the hopes to cement the future that we all imagine, a fairy-tale of love.
Only to find you have left on a plane to Singapore
You were so close but yet so far now all that remains is that photo.
