Broken Expectations Poem by Victoria Johnson

Broken Expectations

This feeling of exhaustion and exasperation
derives from your lack of participation and emotion
These tears that overcome my eyes
are punishment for not getting you out of my life
These lonely nights and bitter fights
are what i deserve for foolishly thinking you'd never let me go and hold me tight
Abruptly came in my life only to be such a significance
how could you leave me now without returning my hearts existence
In the end you left me to be love's only casualty
You pretend our relationship was nothing but a lie
while as i sit here in numbing pain and hopelessly cry
